Roll up, roll up.  If you’ve not already bagged your seat at the Wandle’s most prestigious angling event of the year, here’s all you’ll need to know…

The time and place: Thursday 24 April, 7.00 for 7.45pm, in the Red Room at Morden Hall.

The food and drink: £35 for 3 courses (pate, tiger prawns or mozzarella salad; duck, lamb shank or linguini; cheesecake, chocolate fondant or bramley apple pie) plus a glass or 2 of fine wine.

The craic: historic surroundings in the company of the Wandle’s finest fishing conservationists, and your chance to find out who’s won this magnificently Wandle-sediment-encrusted trophy (hint: it’s taken a while, but for the very first time the Wands Cup will be awarded for its real quixotic purpose – the season’s first C&R of a Wandle trout by a Club Member on a dry fly):

That’s without mentioning our famous “Fiver in a Creel” fundraising raffle, with prizes ranging from rare, beautiful and prestigious to strange, outrageous and downright silly.

And there’ll be another trophy handed out too, but we’re not sure it’s suitable for showing on a family website.  Not yet, anyhow…

Want to be there?  If you’ve not already received an email, drop us a line at treasurer@wandlepiscators.net, and we’ll send you all the details.

Hurry, Wandle Piscators – we’ll need your booking by Saturday 19 April at latest!
